10/25/2010 1st Viewing of microaquarium
This is a photo of a tachysoma which is circulating the water in order to push itself around. While looking at the microaquarium for the first time there were a lot of things moving around and a lot of things growing. I also found something like a spore that was growing off of a leaf but Dr. McFarland was not sure what it was at the time. There were still a few snells and they were still alive. Most of the organisms were still small and still developing. It will be interesting to see what will happen to the aquarium after the food was added. On Friday October 22, 2010 Dr. McFarlad inserted one Beta Food Pellet. "Atison's Betta Food" made by Ocean Nutrition, Aqua Pet Americas, 3528 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Ingredients: Fish meal, wheat flower, soy meal, krill meal, minerals, vitamins and preservatives. Analysis: Crude Protein 36%; Crude fat 4.5%; Crude Fiber 3.5%; Moisture 8% and Ash 15%.

Wednesday 10/13/2010
In the lab on Wednesday we created our MicroAquarium. In my MicroAquarium I used the water source number 9 which is the Pond at Sterchi Hills Greenway Trail.
9. Pond at Sterchi Hills Greenway Trail. Rife Range Rd. Knox Co. Knoxville TN Full sun exposure. Sheet runoff N36 02.687 W83 57.159 1065 ft.

When we first created our MicroAquariums we took soil out of the bottom of the sample of the water source we were using and put in the MicroAquarium first then we took some of the top layer of water and put it on top of the soil, then we took some water just below the service of water but not all the way down to the soil. We viewed them through the microscopes to see what was going on with the plants at the start of our observations. When viewing mine I found that there were really small snales around the plant B. The plant A did not have any organisms around the plant.
